This web site allows you to create SMS broadcast lists to market a range of products
and services to mobile phone users. When used appropriately this should allow site
owners and service operators to generate additional revenues from the existing visitors
and customers. Marketing of this form is regulated and policed in order to protect
mobile phone users from spam; delivery of inappropriate content; and excessive charging.
All uses of this service must agree to adhere to all codes of practices and legislation
governing marketing of these products and services.
MMP can not offer specific advice on the scope or application of these rules and the user
of this service remains wholly responsible for all loss and damages; legal action; or
financial penalties from marketing and promotion activity using this service. Any complaint
received by MMP from any of the agencies [including those listed below] will be treated
seriously and may lead to suspension or immediate termination of your service.
For example [example only] – we would expect that users of the service for promotion and
marketing would:
- only use msisdns where a opt-in had been received
- broadcast only u-rated content
- send appropriate message content
- provide a simple effective STOP process
- use numbers where the opt-in was less than 6 months old
- advertise any price info accurately and clearly
- advise users of any data or other network charges
- not send more than 1 message per week to any number
- not assume the recipient was over 18
MMP reserve the right to monitor all messages sent and responses to users and suspend or
terminate users that abuse the service or do not follow the appropriate guidelines or spirit
of the guidelines where appropriate.
